We got a new car! 

And yes, I chose it entirely based on the spectacular colour. 

I thought me next car would be a unicorn rainbow 🦄🌈 wrap on a different model.

But when I saw this, I knew she was perfect for our family. 

The mermaid/ merman 🧜🏻 theme runs strong in our family with a deep love of all things water and ocean 🌊

so calling in more of that life by driving around in its glorious blue everyday 🩵

This is a dream.

Life is about having fun! And every time I’m looking at this car, I’m going to be smiling and having a giggle - I actually got a mermaid car! 

And so beautiful to share it with our boy this time. The last car we picked up, he was in my belly 🥰🥹

This memory just popped up from last year, one of my truest highlights of 2025, and the message is just as relevant today. 

Please pause, anytime - anytime you need. 
Take a pause for one moment and read this.

True Presence. 

This was the key lesson I took away from @elizabeth_gilbert_writer on Thursday night at Brisbane Town Hall during her exquisite lecture. 

I didn’t know what to expect but I know whenever I read Liz’s words or listen to them, I feel as if she’s speaking directly to me and it’s a balm for the soul. 

I’d been feeling wobbly this week. Literally rocky as I’d got off a cruise ship on Monday. But the feeling wouldn’t pass. I  then started to feel a bit anxious. And
On Wednesday night I had restless legs. My whole body wanted to move but I felt so tired. It was strange. I was worried I wouldn’t even be able to sit still in the lecture.

But it was the calm I needed.

It was the reminder to be present; even in discomfort. This too shall pass. And sitting observing, being with the uncomfortable is the only way to move through.

Liz also shared a fabulous acronym for when you are not present and when you slip into strategising. Which I definitely had been as I tried to quickly move away from the feelings in my body.

P - pause 
A - action 
U - until 
S - serenity 
E - enters

I didn’t take notes during the talk because I wanted to be present and Liz asked that of us, to not be with our phones. But this one - I made myself remember clearly 

Pause. 
When everything seems too much and you want to rush into action. To fix. To get better. 
Pause. 

I’ll carry this talk with me for a long long time.

Of course I also had another book highlight when I got to have a hug with Liz, give her my book & tell her what her book Big Magic 💫 has meant to me over the years.

I also got to share all of it with a dear friend who I knew would love and appreciate it all as much as I did. 

Here’s to creative living.
