One thing I’ve happily given up after 17 years i One thing I’ve happily given up after 17 years in business? Doing everything myself. For years, I did. The copy. The website. The social media. The emails. The admin. The clients. The sales. The delivery. And yes, trying to figure out whatever piece of tech had decided not to work that day. I can do a lot of those things. But just because I can do them doesn’t mean that’s where I should be spending my time. These days I ask myself: Where do I add the most value?
What’s my gift?
How can I do more of that and get help with the rest? My voice is my gift. I know that. I’m on the calls. I’m on the stage. I record the podcast. I show up on video. I talk to clients. I build relationships. I share the stories. I deliver the work. So much of that is what helps grow my businesses. But fiddling with a payment gateway? Reconciling my accounts? That ain’t me. 😂 I have help. I have an amazing VA @ruchellelagman who supports me across SO much of what I do. I have a bookkeeper. An accountant. Strategists. Coaches. Business partners. Specialists. And, of course, AI has become a huge part of how I work too. It doesn’t mean I never get into the weeds. This week’s Retreat Me Happy relaunch certainly proved that! But after 17 years, I’ve become much clearer about where my time and energy are best spent. I don’t need to do everything. I need to do more of what I’m really bloody good at, and build the right support around me for the rest. That feels like growth. What’s one thing you’ve given up doing in business? (Another thing I don’t do alone, is my fitness: this is my amazing PT @cinchtraining, who also happens to be my @restandreceiveretreats client, and a dear friend. The Gold Coast Show 10 years of living here and I The Gold Coast Show 10 years of living here and I think this is the first time we’ve properly been. Finn went on Friday with daddy. But the line for the animals was too long, and it was the thing he most wanted to see. So we got down there bright and early today to make sure we got our animal pats in - including a cheeky #shelfie (sheep selfie) We watched duck racing - which is highly entertaining. Spotted our friends riding camels by the beautiful Broadwater. And drank our body weight in slushies. We also ate hot cinnamon donuts then met Officer Donut 👮. Such a great setup and so lovely it’s so local to us. We are glad we made the effort after a decade 🤣 #goldcoastshow #goldcoast #gcshow #bleisurelife
