Buying a business sounds glamorous. Launching a b Buying a business sounds glamorous. Launching a business sounds glamorous. And, to be fair, quite a lot of my business probably looks glamorous from the outside. But this is me at 2:47pm on a Wednesday, with a launch happening in two days, trying to figure out a payment portal. Redesigning pages. Archiving old content. Hunting down logins. Trying to make different apps talk to each other. Wondering why something that should take five minutes has somehow taken an hour. This is business too. It’s the part you don’t always see behind the speaking gigs, international travel, retreats, shiny launches and exciting announcements. I’m 17 years into running businesses and I can assure you, there is no point where you suddenly stop having days like this. Right now I have three businesses on the go, with one being relaunched on Friday, and today looks like laptop open, a million tabs and my cat happily sitting on my lap while I figure it all out. Oh, and my lovely laundry hanging in the background. You’re welcome. This is real life. Every “overnight success” has a whole lot of this happening behind the scenes. And actually, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m VERY excited to show you what we’ve been working on at RetreatMeHappy.com on Friday. And yes, it’s going to look fabulous. Are you playing it safe in life? When I announced Are you playing it safe in life? When I announced that we were moving to India, I absolutely used the words “We’re moving to India” because I knew they’d get your attention. And they did. But then I noticed myself doing something interesting. Every time someone said, “Wow, that’s huge!” or told me how brave or courageous we were, I’d respond with: “Well, it’s only three months…” Only three months. Why was I minimising it? Because actually, it is a big deal. For some people, spending three months living in another country with their husband and young child might be one of the biggest adventures they ever take. And I don’t want to make it smaller just because, to me, it feels like a natural next step. India is familiar to me. I’ve been travelling there for more than 20 years. We have friends, business partners and a long history there. My husband and son have travelled there with me before. So while there will absolutely be challenges, to us this feels like an evolution. The next adventure. To someone else, it might look completely wild. And that got me thinking about how differently we all define what feels “safe”. Because I’m not here to live a small life. I’m here to live a big, exciting, adventurous, incredible, full life. That doesn’t mean you need to move your family to India. Your version of bold might look completely different to mine. But I do hope that watching us do this prompts you to be a little more courageous about creating the life you want. So here’s the question I’m asking you today: Where are you playing it safe in life? Where have you reduced or minimised your dreams so much that you’re no longer daring to try? Sydney weekend 🤍 adults only We took a rare tr Sydney weekend 🤍 adults only We took a rare trip to Sydney just the two of us to celebrate a lovely friends 40th. Early flight Axe throwing Reuniting with old friends Visiting lovely friends Doggy cuddles Fun beers Couples chats Tea with friends And all of this is part of my #bleisurelife I did do a few business things throughout the weekend. But this weekend was about fun and friendship. Because they are important elements of a Bleisure life too Travelling for the weekend to see friends is important Making time for each other as a couple is important Laughing and having fun is important These things top up the cup and feed the soul. And when you feel good, you can do good. I believe that Rest is productivity. And they also believe joy is productivity. Although I often have many reasons to travel, and can always find a way to weave my business in. It’s also okay to just travel for fun. For friendship and for joy. And this weekend hit the sweet spot. Love sharing this life with you @matty_quik and how blessed we are to have such wonderful friends to visit and share it with too. While we were here enjoying this precious time, our gorgeous boy was having an absolute ball on the Gold Coast, creating special memories with his grandparents. Our first India plans are officially locked in! 🇮🇳 From 29 November to 8 December, I’ll be joining Nikki Ellis on her Cinch Wellbeing Retreat, travelling from Delhi to Jaipur, Goa and finishing in Mumbai, with an optional extension to Agra and the Taj Mahal. I’ve had the pleasure of travelling with Nikki on my retreats in Sri Lanka and India, and again on a wonderful Bleisure trip earlier this year. She fell in love with this part of the world too, and that trip helped inspire her to create an India experience for her own community. And now it’s happening! Matt and Finn will be travelling alongside me, doing their own thing while I join the retreat, so this will also be one of the first adventures of our three months living in India. And if you’ve been asking me, “When are you doing another India retreat?” while I’m not hosting this one, I WILL be there. to spend my time doing. 
And it’s all starting to fit together.
