Lately in My Bleisure Life... 💃🌏 It’s bee Lately in My Bleisure Life... 💃🌏 It’s been a BIG few weeks, and I’m slowly finding my way back to feeling like myself again. Between being really unwell, travelling to America with my five-year-old, spending precious time with family and coming home to a busy season in business, I’ve been recognising just how stretched my capacity has been. And with so much happening in the world lately, it’s been a reminder of how important it is to look after ourselves, physically, mentally and emotionally. My three words right now are replenishment, nourishment and restoration. I’ve talked about self-care for years, but one thing I keep coming back to is that it shouldn’t become another to-do list. I have a whole buffet of things that make me feel good, from journalling and beach walks to music, movement, connection and rest. I don’t need to do them ALL. I just need to choose a few and start bringing those things back into my life. There’s been some joy amongst it all too! I had the honour of MCing the @womenintourismgc Power of Pink Long Lunch, we’re getting closer to our India adventure, and I’ve got some lovely time with friends and a little childhood dream coming up this week. That’s what My Bleisure Life looks like lately. Business, travel, family, meaningful work, challenges and making space for the things that bring me joy. Because creating a life you love NOW also means taking care of yourself along the way. A few people have asked me, "Why India?" The simp A few people have asked me, "Why India?" The simple answer is... business. Not because I'm leaving Australia or stepping away from my work. Quite the opposite. I'm spending three months in India because that's where a big part of my business is growing. For the past nine years, I've partnered with Indus Bound, helping Australians experience India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. As the retreat side of my business has grown, so has the opportunity to support retreat hosts on the ground through Rest & Receive. I've also had the chance to do more speaking and MCing in India, and it feels like I just keep being called back there. Australia is one of the largest tourism markets for India, despite our relatively small population. It makes sense for me, as an Australian business owner working with Australians, to spend more time there, strengthen those relationships, and keep creating incredible experiences for my clients. Sometimes growing your business isn't about working harder. It's about being closer to where the opportunities are. I’m learning that sometimes perseverance looks l I’m learning that sometimes perseverance looks like changing the plan. Not forcing yourself onto the flight. Not squeezing in another trip. Not filling every available space. Not trying to give everything your full energy at the same time. I’ve had to change and cancel a lot of plans lately, and strangely, that’s taught me more about perseverance than simply “pushing through” ever could. Because I’m not giving up on the big things. I’m making space for them. Sometimes perseverance is knowing what matters enough to keep going for, and what you need to let go of along the way. What are you making space for right now?
